About Us
The Phoenix Community Choir is a welcoming ensemble of singers from across the Valley who share a passion for making exceptional choral music together. We believe that great music is created through collaboration, dedication, and a love of singing, and we welcome members of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels. Whether you are returning to choir after many years or have sung your entire life, you will find a supportive community where every voice is valued.
As an ensemble of The Choirs at Phoenix College, the Phoenix Community Choir combines the musical excellence of a collegiate program with the warmth and accessibility of a true community chorus. Members perform a wide range of repertoire spanning centuries and styles, from beloved choral masterworks to contemporary compositions, often collaborating with professional musicians, student ensembles, and guest artists.
The choir presents an annual concert season throughout central Phoenix while fostering meaningful musical experiences for both singers and audiences. In addition to local performances, the ensemble has toured throughout New England, Washington State, the Midwest, and Ireland, sharing its music with communities across the United States and abroad.
Membership is open to anyone who loves to sing. No audition is required, and thanks to the generous support of our donors, the first semester is free. Scholarships are available to support additional semesters, making it possible for singers from all backgrounds to participate.

Dr. Kenny Miller, Conductor - Concert Choir, Phoenix Community Choir, enCoro
Dr. Kenny Miller is the Coordinator of Voice Studies and Director of Choral Activities at Phoenix College. Under his leadership, the choirs have presented performances of Mozart's Vesperae solennes de confessore, Coronation Mass, and Requiem; Vaughan Williams's In Windsor Forest; Rutter's Requiem; Thompson's Frostiana; and many other major works. He also led the Arizona premiere of Gene Koshinski's Concerto for Marimba and Choir with Percussion. Dr. Miller has conducted the choirs on performance tours throughout New England, Washington State, the Midwest, and Ireland.
Dr. Miller is the founder and former Executive Director of the Phoenix-based early music ensemble HELIOS: A Modern Renaissance, where he also performed as a singer. He previously sang with the Grammy Award-winning Phoenix Chorale and served as one of its assistant conductors. During his tenure, the ensemble recorded the critically acclaimed Northern Lights, released on the Chandos label in 2012, as well as the 2016 Grammy Award-winning recording of Rachmaninoff's All-Night Vigil.
In addition to his work in music, Dr. Miller serves as Director of the Phoenix College Honors Program, where he provides leadership for one of the college's premier academic programs while continuing to champion excellence in music education and community engagement.

Dr. Kristie Janczyk, Piano
Dr. Kristie Janczyk is an accomplished American pianist, collaborative artist, and educator recognized for her expressive performances, technical excellence, and exceptional artistry. Praised for her vibrant musicality, refined tonal palette, and compelling stage presence, she has established an international career as a soloist, chamber musician, and collaborative pianist. A prizewinner in numerous prestigious
competitions, Dr. Janczyk is a two-time First Prize winner of the American Protégé International Competition, leading to recital appearances at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall, and has earned top honors in several national and international piano competitions.
Her performance career has taken her throughout North America and Europe, including appearances with orchestras and festivals in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Latvia, the United Kingdom, Austria, Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic. She has collaborated with distinguished conductors, ensembles, and internationally renowned artists while maintaining an active career as both a solo and collaborative pianist.
Based in Phoenix, Arizona, Dr. Janczyk serves as Adjunct Music Professor at Ottawa University, Collaborative Pianist at Phoenix College, and collaborative pianist and vocal coach at Arizona State University. She earned her Doctor of Musical Arts in Collaborative Piano from Arizona State University and both her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Piano Performance from Southern Methodist University.
